We are seeking applications from medical practitioners with an interest and experience in internal and emergency medicine to join the team at the Oamaru Hospital. This hospital provides a comprehensive range of services; general & acute medical and rehabilitation inpatient, emergency department, maternity, mobile surgical services, and a range of outpatient and community services.  SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST NOW FILLED

We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our small friendly team.
Based in the Occupational Therapy Department at Oamaru Hospital you will have the opportunity to enjoy life in a rural commnity.  Oamaru is ideally situated for exploring and enjoying the lifestyle the South Island has to offer.
Full time Senior Occupational Therapist with responsibilities for clients in hospital, as well as those living in Oamaru and in the outlying rural areas.  You will work as a member of the wider community services team, your main responsibilities being head of the OT department, assessment for equipment and housing modifications.  An opportunity is also provided to undertake pre-operative assessments and work with clients attending the Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Day Unit.
This position requires applicants to possess excellent communication skills along with relevant post grad experience, NZ registration and current Practicing Certificate and a full driver's license.

We are currently seeking: DISTRICT NURSE,  0.6 FTE (3 days a week), rostered duties 8am to 4.30pm and 1pm to 8pm, 7 days per week. 
Requirements of the position:
      R.G.O.N R/N Comp N with at least three years post-basic experience in Medical/surgical Nursing
Current driver’s licence
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Sound knowledge of nursing practice and assessment techniques
Recent experience in Community Nursing would be advantageous but is not essential
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a friendly rural community team with a focus on quality care.

Oamaru Hospital has a vacancy for a Medical Radiation Technologist Position 
The Hospital has a 30 bed Acute Medical/AT&R Ward, 24/7 Emergency Department cover, Maternity and a large Outpatient Clinic Service.

The ideal appointee will be a person who possesses a minimum of 1 year experience in Plain Film Radiography
Post graduate qualification/experience in CT Scanning
 would be desirable but not essential

The Oamaru Hospital Radiology Department has the following equipment:
-          Shimadzu RadSpeed General X-ray Machine
-          Shimadzu MobileArt Plus X-ray Machine
-          Siemens Acuson Antares 5.0 Ultrasound Machine
-          Siemens Somatom Emotion 16 Slice CT Scanner

-          RIS/PACS system (COMRAD and CEDARA)

SOCIAL WORKER/NEEDS ASSESSOR NOW FILLED

A position has become available for a Social Worker/Needs Assessor at Oamaru Hospital.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team providing social work services to inpatients and people in the community, as well as Needs Assessment for older people in the Waitaki District.
This position is a part time 0.6 FTE position (24 hours per week).
The appointee should hold a professional Social Work qualification.  A person with experience of working with the older people in a health service would be preferred.
